Hanging Out Solo...

I ’ve been told many times that going to a bar after work is a great way to meet men. I’ve also been told that I should go out without a bunch of girl friends because men are more likely to approach a single woman as opposed to a pack. So, after work last Thursday night, I decided to go to a nice restaurant and sit at the bar. As I sat there sipping on my second glass of Sangria, I saw someone    walking toward me.

Introducing Royal

I was on Facebook and my friend’s status update said:
If you’re 30 or over, you’re a third way through your life. Better live it up!

Reading that I realized a few things…
1. I’m over 30 now…
2. I am not living it up…
3. and I need to get started.
So, this is my start!

What Are You Waiting For?

Last Friday, I got a call from a friend just as I was heading out to party. She sounded kind of down so we talked for a quick second. She asked where I was headed for the night and I began to read the details of the event from the flyer I'd received a week earlier: free for ladies, open bar, networking, dancing, etc. When I finished I asked of her plans and she informed me she was 'in for the night.' I looked at my watch confused because it was only 830 so I asked "Why?" After a sigh she stated she didn't have a date. *GASP*
I guess no one ever told her so I took that opportunity to put my friend up on game. "Just because you don't have a date doesn't mean you're on punishment! Get your ass up and go out!"

Where My Girls At?

It's official, I'm hooked on VH1's new show "Let's Talk About Pep" (a hood version of Sex and the City). If you haven't seen it, Pepa, from the famed group Salt n Pepa is looking for love along with 3 of her girlfriends. Each episode they meet for lunch to dish on their dating adventures. LUV IT!! I get a nostalgic pain when I see them hanging out because recently all my close girlfriends have moved out of the city and now I'm doing all my girlie errands (manicures, shopping, hairdresser, etc.) solo. It just doesn't have that same appeal. Healthy girlfriend relationships are the next best thing to a butt naked man
